A Roll Tide Burlap Christmas Wreath

In my attempt to make TWO of the exact same wreaths (because I have double doors) I wanted the project to be

 1) easier than making a deco-mesh wreath 

2) affordable since I need two of them.

I started with:

1) flat wood wreath frame

2) some pipe cleaners

3) and the burlap

 Start by attaching one end of the burlap to your wreath frame with a pipe cleaner

 The picture on the left shows a view from the back once you've finished securing the burlap all the way around the wreath frame.--- Notice I tried to keep everything as evenly spaced as possible.


The picture to the right is a view from the front as I'm finishing up.---Again, notice how I tried to keep everything even.. the length of the burlap is the same for each "poof" that you see and all of the "poofs" are tied down with pipe cleaners the same length apart.

This is a finished view from the front…... along with a snapshot of my toes on the left for more amusement….

 Decide on the embellishments you want to add to your wreath.  I decided on this ensemble with some red, white and a bit of greenery.


I used a pipe cleaner and some hot glue to attach everything into one piece.

I added some houndstooth burlap bows… and there you have it!…. I call this my Roll Tide Burlap Christmas Wreath!

Notice each of my embellishments are attached to the areas of the wreath where there were pipe cleaners visible…. if you don't want to have to worry about covering over your pipe cleaners use a pipe cleaner that matches the color you are working with.

Roll Tide Burlap Centerpiece!

I recently decided I would use some burlap to make a centerpiece for my favorite football team!  To start with yo will need :

1) Wire coat hanger

2) Burlap - approximately 6-7 yards 

3) Decorative ribbon of your choice (since I'm a bama fan I chose colors of "crimson" and then something that resembled the "houndstooth" look), I was unable to find the actual houndstooth ribbon/fabric so I opted for the ribbon in the picture.

How To Make The Centerpiece:

1)  Use a pair of pliers (wire cutters) to cut the top off of a wire coat hanger.  Using your wire coat hanger "thread" the burlap onto the wire coat hanger.  Don't worry about getting it perfect!

2)  Continue weaving the burlap onto the wire coat hanger until it is as "full" looking as you prefer.  I tend to prefer a really "full" looking centerpiece so I used quite a bit of the burlap.

3)  Once you have finished weaving the burlap onto the wire coat hanger, use some pliers and "twist" the two wire ends together in a circular motion in order to fasten the ends together.

4)  Select any type of decorative ribbon to "tie into" the burlap centerpiece along with a candle that matches.  Because of the burlap centerpiece MAKE SURE you are aware that if you choose a candle not in a glass candle holder.... there is a huge possibility you will need to make/create a centerpiece that works for you!

Roll Tide Deco Mesh Wreath!

Here I go again with yet another deco-mesh wreath project.  Since football season is just beginning and  about to be in full swing I opted for a wreath that displayed my proud alumni status and the team I cheer the hardest far... which is of course, The University of Alabama!!

1) You will need a wire wreath frame, your deco mesh, some pipe cleaners and any accessories/ribbons or other items you want to use on your wreath.

2) The pic below shows the wire frame I used, there are three sizes and I usually choose the medium size frame.  For a thick full wreath, you will want to use the wide rolls of deco mesh and you can easily use up an entire roll on a medium sized wreath frame.

4)  Once I finished the deco mesh portion of the wreath I added some ribbon and a letter that I painted white and then added some white glitter too for a bit of a brighter white color.
